Macular Degeneration:  Degenerative disease of the macula (responsible for central vision). There are 2 types; Dry (non-exudative) and wet (exudative). Treatment: Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS) dosage multivitamins/minerals (if no present or past history of smoking) and sometimes laser treatment.  Some of the latest research shows intra-ocular injectable medication or low dose radiation can slow down the wet form of this disease.
